5 Steps To A Summer Routine

The seasons, they are a-changin’, and one of the best ways to stay mentally and physically balanced during this time of year is to change with them. The summer is a time of vibrancy, of dense heat, bright light and tangible energy, all with the purpose of nourishing the lands (and our bodies) for ultimate growth. For many of us the summer also means long days in the sun, indulgent afternoon barbecues, frequent dinner parties, and late nights with our favorite fruity cocktail in hand.


So how do we balance out this fiery season in order to stay cool, calm, and healthy? Read on for our top 5 favorite practices to add into your summer routine:

1. Add frankincense oil to your face routine

Frankincense oil has powerful anti-aging and skin-rejuvenating effects that your dry, sun-kissed skin will need during the summer! Frankincense is a natural astringent, meaning it helps regenerate healthy cells and keep existing tissue healthy and strong. Add A few drops of this healing oil to your current moisturizer and apply daily for the ultimate summer glow.

2. Supercharge your coffee

Take your morning routine to the next level by adding powerful superfoods to your coffee! We start everyday with a heaping scoop of Morning Magic mixed into our coffee to help our bodies balance out coffee’s naturally acidic nature. This plant powder will also help activate your metabolism and soothe any building inflammation first thing in the morning, so that your body is ready to take on whatever comes its way. 

3. Banana hair mask

Mix 1 ripe banana + 1/2 tablespoon honey, and add to clean, dry hair. Take the next 20-25 minutes to let the mask soak in as you do something restorative for yourself - meditate, read a book, sit in a bath, curl up with an animal or a loved one on the couch. Rinse fully, dry, and repeat a few times a month. 

4. Make cocktails with natural booch

Looking forward to some refreshing cocktails tonight? SAME. Rather than mixing alcohol with a sugary fruit juice or soda, try mixing with fresh kombucha!
